Silent Auction
100% of funds raised from the Silent Auction go directly to a local non-profit. This year's non-profit is The DVRCC. DVRCC’s initial services included a 24-hour crisis line and a five-day stay at volunteer safe homes. As the program expanded, a house was leased in 1981 to provide a longer length of stay for abused women and their children. In 1995 DVRCC sold its shelter and used the proceeds as a down payment on a large building that could accommodate more residents and also staff offices.
During Dickinson’s second oil boom, DVRCC began to realize that the need for a larger capacity building was a top priority. In December 2018 DVRCC officially moved into a brand new building, allowing 10 more beds than the previous shelter. DVRCC now has a building which can accommodate 28 women and children.
Today, DVRCC still offers almost all of the original services and have added many more supportive services to victims and survivors of violence and homelessness.
DVRCC currently offers a 24-Hour crisis line, crisis counseling, personal advocacy, outreach services, community task forces, information and referrals, safety planning, safe shelter for up to 28 women and children, protective orders, legal advocacy, public education on domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, dating violence, teen dating violence and homelessness, and SART responses.
